“No Great Future” Government Sponsored Resettlement in Newfoundland and Labrador since Confederation, part of the Archives Canada website: In a press release, dated Oct 29, 1957, Premier J.R. Smallwood estimated that as many as 200 settlements in Newfoundland “with no great future” and involving as many as 50,000 people could be resettled (Stacey Collection, CNS).

Association of Newfoundland and Labrador Archives: A must stop for all researchers.

Bay St. George Genealogical Society: This is the second site posted by the society, so they have a place for pictures, documents, a query board, etc.

Family History Society of Newfoundland and Labrador: Located at 657 Topsail Road, Waterford Valley Plaza, St. John's, NL, Canada A1E 2E3. The Family History Society of Newfoundland and Labrador's database of cemetery and parish records is available for research by members and the general public. NLGS is in the midst of an ongoing project to index all the cemetery and parish records in Newfoundland and Labrador. More than 100,000 birth, marriage, death, and burial events have been indexed resulting in around 500,000 name references.

The Family Tree Centre: A non-profit organization operated by volunteers situated in Grand Falls-Windsor, NL. Since 1998, they have promoted interest in genealogy by helping visitors conduct research on their ancestry and explore their family history. Their centre contains genealogical information for the province of Newfoundland and Labrador.
