Character Stories

Character Stories were created from
my desire to better know the characters in the fantasy books, Stepping Stones, I am
writing. The stories began as an exercise some writers
undertake to flesh out characters, but shortly before I finished my first Character Story, I realized it had taken on a life of its own.
Each Character Story focuses on one character that appears somewhere in the Stepping Stones fantasy series. They may be a main character or one just passing through. So far, the stories
are in a time before the events occur in the books and are often a pivotal moment in the character’s life, one that moulded them into the person we meet later on.
Often other characters we meet in the books make a cameo appearance in the Character Stories as even true life is a web of encounters and circumstances. History on the inhabitants and the
places they dwell is woven into each Character Story to allow readers to better understand their world.
As my first fantasy book progresses, Character Stories will be created and posted as time permits. Eventually, who knows, maybe they will become a collection in a book of their own some
day as ‘required reading’ for my fantasy books.
We are only limited by our imagination.

NOTE: I initially had a completed word count of 40,000, but I have since learned that books with double the amount of words are acceptable. That's a good thing considering I think my book will be about that much if not a little more.
